Istanbul’s first European airport

Istanbul International Airport ranked first among the airports of the European continent during the year 2020, in terms of the number of passengers.

This was stated by comparing the Anatolian figures announced by European international airports, related to the numbers of passengers.

Istanbul airport topped the continent’s airports in the number of passengers who used the airport in their movements during the past year, who reached 23.4 million passengers.

The British capital’s London airport and Charles de Gaulle in Paris came in second and third places with 22.1 million passengers, and Amsterdam Airport came fourth with 20.9 million, according to the ranking.

It is noteworthy that civil aviation traffic has received significant losses over the past year due to the closure of most countries of their airports as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak.
